DECENT project aims to transform vocational education and training (VET) in Mozambique by equipping teachers with modern, inclusive, and industry-relevant skills. Through innovation, collaboration, and continuous professional development, the project supports a more inclusive and responsive labour market.

The project develops continuous professional development courses for vocational teachers, focusing on key areas such as gender equality, inclusion, digital pedagogy, entrepreneurship, and cooperation with the private sector. These areas reflect national priorities and labour market needs.

DECENT contributes to strengthening the quality and relevance of vocational education by improving teacher competencies and supporting the alignment between training systems and labour market demands. It promotes inclusive and competency-based approaches in vocational education.

DECENT strengthens vocational education and training in Mozambique by supporting the continuous professional development of teachers and promoting closer collaboration between education institutions and the labour market.

Through targeted training courses and practical methodologies, the project enhances teachers’ capacity to deliver inclusive, relevant, and competency-based education. It contributes to building a more responsive and sustainable VET system aligned with national priorities and economic development needs.

The European Union

The participation of European Union institutions in the project strengthens its international dimension and the quality of interventions through knowledge transfer, exchange of best practices, and alignment with European frameworks in vocational education. Cooperation with European partners enables the integration of innovative approaches in teacher training, digital pedagogy, inclusion, and labour market alignment, contributing to institutional capacity building and the sustainable development of the education system.
